The Dispute Resolution Center offers affordable, constructive, restorative and healing approaches to conflict resolution.

VISION

We partner and collaborate with individuals, families and businesses to build peaceful communities. 

VALUES

Respect: An understanding that all people have value and need be treated in an appropriate way.

Integrity: An adherence to the principles of fairness and wholeness, using a transparent consensus process whenever possible.

Accessible:  Easy to contact or approach.

Restorative Justice:  Promoting processes using truth-telling, sharing of information and empowerment with the intent of repairing the harm 

Diversity & Inclusion:  Promoting and sustaining a sense of community belonging that values and respects the talents, beliefs and backgrounds of its members.

OVERVIEW

For the next several years, the DRC’s strategic work will focus on 5 areas: Programs & Services; Volunteers; Marketing, Partnerships & Outreach; Fund Development/Revenue; Diversity & Inclusion.   Although the work broadens from an internal focus – Programs & Services – to a community, system-wide focus – Diversity & Inclusion – it is all interconnected with the success in one area dependent on the efforts and success in another. 

The Goals, Purpose and Objectives were developed after carefully consideration of stakeholders’ opinions and reflect the value choices and strategic imperatives of the DRC.  In some places the “actions required” are described.   The objectives & actions are not fixed and are adaptable to changing circumstances.  

 

Strategic Focus Area 1: PROGRAMS & SERVICES                 
Goals:

  • Maintain, improve and expand current programmatic offerings
  • Engage with small/medium businesses for Human Resource mediation

Purpose:                           

  • To support a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in program and service delivery.
  • To leverage opportunities for revenue and impact growth.
Strategic Focus Area 2: VOLUNTEERS                        
Goals:

  • Co-create and support high-impact, meaningful volunteer opportunities.  
  • Increase diversity of volunteer pool.
  • Maintain and increase volunteer engagement.

Purpose:

  • Build organizational capacity through volunteer collaboration.
  • Leverage the expertise and life experiences of a diverse pool of volunteers in order to increase DRC’s effectiveness & impact.
  • Broaden DRC’s team of leaders, ambassadors and advocates. 
Strategic Focus Area 3: MARKETING, PARTNERSHIPS & OUTREACH
Goals:

  • Increase AWARENESS of DRC’s mission and UTILIZATION of its services (including new business lines).
  • Increase INVESTMENT in DRC’s mission by donors and institutional funders.

Purpose:

  • Increase demand for restorative means of resolving all disputes.
  • Convert support for DRC mission into financial investment.
 Strategic Focus Area 4: FUND DEVELOPMENT/REVENUE
 Goals:

  • Maintain and increase EARNED revenue streams.
  • Deepen & broaden DONATED (grant & donor support) revenue.

Purpose:

  • Increase the DRC’s impact by increasing the number of individuals served.
  • Increase organizational capacity to serve underserved populations.
 Strategic Focus Area 5: DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
 Goals:

  • Develop DRC leadership’s understanding and competency in D & I work.
  • Develop DRC’s organization understanding and competency in D & I work

Purpose:

  • An organization which understands the value and methods of inviting and supporting diverse experiences into its work.
